March In A Parade With The Flaming Lips

Either this is sheer brilliance or the weirdest thing we have ever heard. (You’ll have to excuse us on not knowing since our heads are currently still wrapping around Radiohead’s In Rainbows.) The Flaming Lips are in search of 1,000 volunteers that are willing to be a part of The March Of A Thousand Flaming Skeletons. The Oklahoma Gazette have put together an annual Halloween parade and asked the home-state heroes to contribute “a spectacle celebrating the mysterious, the supernatural and the otherworldly.”

Want to take part in this awesomeness? All you have to do is be in the Oklahoma City area on October 26th to pick up your costume, and on October 27th to march in the parade. The catch? It will cost you $25 to participate, but you get to keep your costume, torch and a special t-shirt. Oh yeah, and you have to be 18 or over and sign a waver.

Still interested? Email deathmarchreservation@hellfireltd.com for more information. If anyone that reads this goes and gets in, we’d love for you to send us some photos.
