It is never too early to start getting excited about an upcoming new album. We just got word that indie popsters Nada Surf have completed their new album, LUCKY, which will be released on February 5 via Barsuk Records. The new tunes were co-produced by the band along with John Goodmanson, who has also worked with Death Cab For Cutie, Blonde Redhead and Sleater-Kinney, so you know the dude is good.
The band recruited a little help from some friends to appear on the album, including Death Can’s Ben Gibbard, Ed Harcourt, John Roderick of The Long Winters and guitarist Phil Wandscher of Jesse Sykes & The Sweet Hearafter.
To help give fans an early taste of their new songs, Nada Surf will be hitting the road this month for a series of tour dates. After that, the band has scheduled a few performances around the album’s release. The shows on the west coast will be special acoustic performances, while the Brooklyn date will be full on electric.
