Indie Labels Team Up For Scion Remix Project

Who likes remixes? We do! We just got word that Scion Audio Visual has partnered up with several great imprint labels (including Vice, Ninja Tune, Greensleeves, Light In The Attic and Strictly Rhythm) to create the Scion Remix Project.

So what’s the deal? Well, their label mates will remix each imprint’s signature acts. All the remixes will then be slapped on a promotional CD release that will be available digitally with all the proceeds going to the producers and labels. See, you may not be helping global warming, but you will be supporting indie music.

And who is on this you might ask. According to the tip in our inbox, “Greensleeves’ Max Glazer & Federation Sound take Yellowman’s ‘Zunguzeng’ to a grimy electro dancehall. Ninja Tune’s Ghislain Poirier remix of TTC’s ‘Telephone’ is guaranteed to stomp its way through dance-floors from Paris to New York. Poirier gets his track ‘Blazin’ remixed by MODESELEKTOR. Light in the Attic’s contribution has Greg Ericco, Raashan Ahmad, and Headnodic’s hip-hop take on Betty Davis’ ‘If I’m In Luck I Might Get Picked Up.’ Vice Record’s fast and heavy Panthers have their track ‘Goblin City’ remixed for the clubs by Holy Ghost!. Strictly Rhythm has the legendary Armand Van Helden’s ‘Witch Doktor’ being remixed by BSOD.”

All of these tracks will be available October 30.
