Flashback Friday Video – Tricky “Black Steel”

Although I was tempted to post a Massive Attack video today, through a bit of YouTube treasure hunting I rediscovered the brilliance of Tricky’s “Black Steel.” After appearing on Massive Attack tracks on their landmark Blue Lines and Protection albums, the trip hop vocalist/musician released his own groundbreaking solo album, 1995’s Maxinquaye. Tricky’s fusion of trip hop and rock made for one hell of a ride. Enjoy the greatness of Martina Topley-Bird in Tricky’s transformation of Public Enemy’s “Black Steel.”
