Death Cab For Cutie’s Chris Walla is helping kick 2008 off with his debut solo album, Field Manual. The record is currently slated for release on January 29 via Barsuk, and now we have a sneak peak at one of the album’s tracks. The producer and multi-instrumentalist performed every single instrument, with the exception of the drums on “Sing Again,” “Everybody On” and “It’s Unsustainable” by Jason McGerr (Death Cab For Cutie) and the drums on “The Score,” “Geometry &c.,” “Everyone Needs A Home,” “Our Plans Collapsing,” “Archer v. Light” and “Saint Modesto” by Kurt Dahle (The New Pornographers).
