Sigur Ros Works With Flood On LP5

Some interesting news from Iceland’s Sigur Ros just popped up on the interwebs today, specifically about work on their upcoming fifth studio album. In an interview with the Frettabladid newspaper (did we spell that correctly?), Orri announced that they would be working with uber-producer Flood on the new tunes. Flood has worked with some hefty names, including U2, PJ Harvey, Smashing Pumpkins, etc., so we’re quite curious to hear what sounds he can bring to the massive soundscapes of Sigur Ros.

This time round, the band will not be recording in their Sundlaugin Studio. They will be relocating to a makeshift home studio in downtown Reykjavik, with no current timetable set for the album’s release. Working in a different studio… bringing in Flood as producer… this should be interesting to say the least!
