More Light Shed On Darfur Benefit Compilation

Back in October we tipped the masses to the fact that Waxplotation was readying a benefit compilation for Darfur. If you already bought your tickets to this weekend’s Oxfam/MySpace benefit and you have a few extra bones to spare, be sure and pre-order your copy of Waxplotation’s Causes 1.

As previously mentioned, the album will boast exclusive and rare tracks from the likes of The Cure, Cornelius, Travis and more. What is newsworthy though is that the label has tapped the famous artist/composer Clint Mansell to remix The Shins “Turn On Me” for the release. Mansell is previously known for his work composing the score for Requiem For A Dream, and co-founding the British act Pop Will Eat Itself. If that’s not reason enough to make you want to check out the album, we don’t know what is.
