Flashback Friday Video – Catherine Wheel “Delicious”

Of all the bands that emerged in the early ’90s, Catherine Wheel was one that should have made it big. Back in my younger days, I can remember hearing “Black Metallic” on my local alternative station, right before grunge flipped the genre upside down. The Wheel’s early records are absolute shoegaze brilliance, fronted by the charismatic Rob Dickinson.

Their second to last album, Adam And Eve, was what could have been their return to the rock airwaves here in the US. The British lads had pieced together what many considered one of their finest works, combining the sonic bliss of their earlier material on Ferment and Chrome with more use of keyboards and acoustic guitars. Here is the video for the single that should have put them back on the map here in the US, 1997’s “Delicious.”
