Coldplay Apparently Writes Something Genius

Chris Martin seems to be a bit overly excited about the progress made on Coldplay’s upcoming new album. After taking a couple of years off, the band will be heading back to the studio to record the follow-up to X&Y, and Martin sure thinks that one of their new songs is going to blow your mind.

While in Mexico City, he spoke to the press about the album and one particular song. CNN reported that Martin said the as-yet-untitled record will mark a different direction for the band. He commented: “In order for us to get excited about a new album, we have to have one song that we feel like everybody has to hear… before we die, otherwise we’ll be terribly depressed. So luckily with this new record we’re going to make, we have that one song.”

So Chris… what does this one life-changing song sound like? “I can’t tell you about it, but it’s basically genius,” he said. Since they are still in the song-writing and rehearsal stages for the album, we’ve got plenty of time to wait until they unleash this self-proclaimed masterpiece upon the world. Oh the anticipation!
