Juliana Hatfield Teams Up With Frank Smith On EP

We’ve been following the Boston turned Austin band Frank Smith for the past year or so. The guys were recently signed to Juliana Hatfield’s label, Ye Old Records, which will be releasing their album Heavy Handed Peace And Love on May 29.

The band also got to spend a few days recording with Juliana Hatfield, which resulted in the Sittin’ In A Tree EP. The songs were produced by Frank Smith frontman Aaron Sinclair and Scott Toomey over six days at Mad Oak Studio in Allston, MA. Hearing the indie-pop of Hatfield meshed with the banjo and pedal steel alt-country of Frank Smith should be mighty fine. The EP will be available starting on May 29.

Frank Smith has a few upcoming tour dates, including a few stops along the east coast. Peep the dates below. Also, you can hear the EP track “364″ on Frank Smith’s MySpace page, and “A Beer And A Shot” on Juliana’s.
