Stream – Jonny Greenwood’s Wordless Music Series

The Wordless Music Series is an ongoing event in New York City that we touched upon late last year. The program is devoted to the idea that the sound worlds of classical and contemporary music share more in common than conventional thinking might suggest. Now who better to have represented that idea than Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood? Yeah we thought so too.

If you couldn’t make it out to see Johnny’s Wordless Music concert, or if you were like us and lived too far away, then peep this. WNYC recorded the whole thing and is offering it as a stream on their website. Throughout the program you will hear Brad Lubman conducting the Wordless Music Orchestra performing John Adams’ “Christian Zeal and Activity,” Jonny Greenwood’s “Popcorn Superhet Receiver for String Orchestra,” and Gavin Bryars’ “The Sinking of the Titanic.” What are you waiting for? Get listening!
