You knew it was only a matter of time before we picked a Suede track to be featured as a Flashback Friday Video. Perhaps it is the gloomy weather outside in Austin right now, but they just totally fit the mood at Tripwire HQ. Going into the history of Suede would simply take us too long to properly cover here, especially once you get into the Brett Anderson + Justine Frischmann + Damon Albarn craziness during the earlier years of the band.
Suede, or London Suede here in the US, was without a doubt one of the most influential bands of the Britpop movement. Brett Anderson and guitarist Bernard Butler reunited a few years ago to form The Tears, although it seems doubtful that we’ll see a sophomore effort from them. Fortunately, it looks like Anderson’s debut solo album will be getting a US release this year… stay tuned for more on that one.
