A friend of The Tripwire sent us over a link to The Hype Machine’s impressive Best of 2007 lists, which were taken from an astonishing 648 separate lists as well as the one from Largehearted Boy. They crunched the numbers, which resulted in the top albums in the blogosphere for the year.
You might recall that before we vanished for the holidays, The Tripwire did something similar, except we targeted the larger online publications, including Pitchfork, NME, The Guardian, etc. When seeing the final lists side by side, we were quite impressed to see how similar they actually were. Radiohead’s In Rainbows topped both lists with ease, which was not much of a shock.
Our own list was far from an exact science, but it looks like we were mighty close. For your reading enjoymen we’ve listed the top 20 from each list. Check it:
