Damon Albarn Confirms Blur Reunion Is Not Happening

Although this is far from unexpected, we were still hanging on to one tiny thread of hope that Blur would reunite, with all four original members, for one final album. Remember that lunch we posted about a while back, during which Damon Albarn, Alex James, Dave Rowntree and Graham Coxon were all going to get together, chat it up and possibly plan to start working on a new album? Well, apparently they all did share a meal, but Albarn is certain that Blur is done.

Damon Albarn spoke with The Sun about the reunion, where he said: “I had dinner with the guys recently and it was laugh but there’s no way they want to work with me again – they all hate me. A reunion is not going to happen.”

He added: “Alex is writing books and making cheese and Dave is moving into politics. I’ve always said if you want to be a musician you have to dedicate yourself to it and do it every day.”

So there you have it. Now if you don’t mind, we’re going to put on Modern Life Is Rubbish and sob quietly in the corner for a while.
