The Format Is No More

A big peace out to the Phoniex-based group The Format. After touring their asses off for their latest album, Dog Problems, the fellas got back home and decided that their hearts were in different places. The main two dudes, Nate Ruess and Sam Means, have opted to put The Format on the back burner for now. So, is the band done forever? Perhaps… maybe not… but for now they’re done.

About the hiatus, Means said: “We have decided to put The Format aside and work on our individual material. This was a tough decision.” Ruess added: “We came out of tour last Fall and realized that we all have different aspirations right now. It didn’t feel like the right time to create a new Format album.”

The guys are still good friends and will continue operating their label together as well. Ain’t that nice?
