Nick Lowe’s Debut Album Gets Reissue Treatment

The crew over at Yep Roc are celebrating the 30th anniversary of Nick Lowe’s debut album, Jesus Of Cool, by reissuing it on February 19. The LP was originally released here in the US with a revised tracklisting and an alternate title, Pure Pop For Now People, so on the new version it will contain all the tracks contained in the UK and US versions. As if that wasn’t enough, they’re adding in an additional seven cuts, making this one mighty impressive pop masterpiece.

Jesus Of Cool has been out of print for over twenty years, so it is about time that this gem gets the attention that it deserves. As one of the albums that helped kick start the New Wave movement, it is great that this will finally be available to a whole new audience. It will be reissued on multiple formats, including CD, double vinyl LP and for the first time, online.
