With Portishead’s eagerly anticipated third studio album, Third, nearly in our hands, along with their upcoming US performance at Coachella, now is as good of a time as any to include them as our Flashback Friday Video artist this week. Their new album, which we’ve been writing about since cavemen first discovered the wheel, will finally hit stores here in the US on April 29.

Although they had several outstanding clips to choose from, I selected their stunning video for “Only You” to feature today. The track comes from their 1997 self-titled album, with a truly amazing video directed by Chris Cunningham. It is hard to believe that this is eleven years old, proving how timeless Portishead’s art truly is.
