I Love Math Readies Sophomore Album + MP3 Download

As somebody who has followed the Texas music scene for quite some time, I am particularly excited to hear that I Love Math will be returning for a sophomore album. For those of you unfamiliar with the band, it is fronted by the multi-talented John Dufilho, who is also the frontman for Deathray Davies and the drummer for Apples In Stereo. Yup, he is one busy dude.

The sophomore album is titled Getting To The Point Is Beside It, which was recorded by Salim Nourallah at Pleasantry Lane Studio. About the new material, Dufilho said: “I wanted to write and record a very straightforward album. I wanted it simple, to the point, and didn’t want to hide behind effects pedals, distortion, studio tricks, or irony.” The band also continued their mantra of “no cymbals allowed.”

Rather than attempt to describe the album further, the band has offered up a free MP3 download so you can judge for yourself. Snag “Josephine Street” below, and then pick up Getting To The Point Is Beside It on May 27 via Glurp Records.
