Celebrate Record Store Day This Weekend

Record Store Day is almost here! This Saturday, April 19, hundreds of indie music stores are going to celebrate the culture and unique place they occupy inside their community. In honor of the event, there are a ton of things going on, from in store performances to special releases. To see if there is a record store in your community participating, click here.

One of the many things to take advantage of during this time is picking up a free limited edition split 7″ from Merge that includes new unreleased songs from Destroyer (”madame Butterflies”) and Wye Oak (”Prodigy”). The only way to get one of these pieces is to go to an indie retailer and see if they have one behind the counter.

Be sure and catch some of the free performances as well. You can see who is playing where by visiting the official website.
