We’ve highlighted the Swedish band The Radio Dept. a few times in the past, from an older podcast, to seeing the guys be named as one of the top releases in 2004. At the beginning of last year there were some rumors going around that the band was working on new material, and that they were going to release some new music. Finally, this summer it looks like these tunes might see the light of day.
On June 4 the band will put out the “Freddie And The Trojan Horse” single, with a new LP, Clinging To A Scheme, to follow on September 10. According to a press release, the new songs are said to be influenced by minimalistic post-punk, krautrock, repetitive “motorik” beat and ambient noise.
