Would You Spend $47K On A Turntable?

Vinyl fanatics have long salivated over the infamous Technics 1200 turntables, but if you thought those had a hefty price tag, think again. While sorting through my normal routine of sites and blogs this morning, I stumbled upon a post over at The Daily Swarm, featuring a turntable that starts at an eye popping $47,000.

The Mercedes of turntables comes from the German company Montegiro. This model, called the Lusso, features: “three height adjustable connected cones made from alternate layers of aluminum and black acrylic, and a central inverted cone that supports the aluminum and acrylic platter.”

So does it actually sound better than your typical turntable? Who knows, but it does look pretty rad. Not $47K worth of rad, but cool nonetheless. Check out the rest of the specs and additional photos over at Audio Junkies.
