Even though its scary to think that The Rentals’ song “Friends Of P” is over ten years old, it is one of those tunes that still sounds as fun and great as it did the first time we heard it oh-so-long ago. One of our favorites, Tokyo Police Club has decided to slap a fresh coat of paint on that old track, and create a cover of it for a good cause.
Even though the guys in Tokyo Police Club are busy with their summer tour that includes stops in Denmark, Japan and Australia, the band found time in their hectic schedule to team up with the Lupus Foundation of America to raise money for continued research of lupus, a disease which affects over 1.5 million Americans. Their cover of “Friends Of P” is streaming at FriendsOfP.org, where you can make donations and receive a limited-edition Friends Of P tote bag.
