Portugal. The Man To Release New Album Later This Year

Portugal. The Man has popped up plenty of times here on The Tripwire. It looks like you’ll be reading more about this Wasilla, Alaska based group more over the next few months, as they have completed work on their third full-length release, Censored Colors.

The band, consisting of guitarist/singer John Baldwin Gourley, bassist/vocalist Zachary Scott Carothers, drummer Jason Sechrist and new member keyboarist/vocalist Ryan Neighbors, wrote and recorded the new tunes over two and a half weeks in Seattle. They recorded with producers Phil Peterson and Kirk Huffman of The House Of Breaking Glass, and ended up getting extra production help and mixing duties by Paul Kolderie (Pixies, Radiohead).

The actual release date is still quite vague, as the band is currently considering many outside the box options for getting the music out to their fans. All we know as of now is that it will find its way into our fans by late summer or early fall. Until then, prepare to check out the new material live as Portugal. The Man embarks on an extensive North American tour beginning in mid July.
