Damon Albarn To Host Label Revue In NYC

Damon Albarn has been one of the busiest dudes in music these days. The former Blur frontman, who is better known these days as the musical mastermind behind Gorillaz, The Good The Bad & The Queen and his recent operatic explorations with Monkey: Journey To The West, is curating an event next month in NYC. You see, Albarn also has his own independent record label, Honest Jon’s.

Damon Albarn & The Honest Jon’s Revue will be taking place at NYC’s Avery Fisher Hall as part of the Lincoln Center Festival on July 12 at 8pm. Performers will consist of various artists on the label, including Tony Allen, Afel Boccoum, the Hympnotic Brass Ensemble, Kokanko Sata, Simone White, Victoria Williams and of course, Mr. Albarn. The sets will consist of both solo performances as well as collaborative efforts under the direction of Albarn.

Tickets appear to be available now, and once word gets out, we’ve got a hunch that they will go quickly! Snag yours now at the Lincoln Center website.
