Brett Anderson Readies Sophomore Album

While us Americans are still waiting for the official release of Brett Anderson’s debut solo album, fans in the UK are gearing up for a sophomore release from the ex-Suede vocalist. The forthcoming LP, titled Wilderness, will come out in the UK on September 1.

If you can’t wait until then, it will be available digitally on August 29. Our friends in London will also have the chance to hear a sample of the new material on July 7 when Anderson plays the Mermaid Theatre. Us Americans will have to check out his MySpace page to sneak a peek; he has some new tunes playing over there.

Anderson spoke with Drowned In Sound about Wilderness saying, “I made this album with the purest of intentions: to create a beautiful suite of songs untethered by second-guessing markets and playlists and music biz bullshit. I have no record company, no publisher and a smaller audience but I have never been more confident and focused about what I am doing as an artist.”
