We would like to introduce you to Ben Cooper and Alex Kane. These two Florida-based musicians are the focus of this edition of our On The Cover series, who together comprise Electric President. Over the span of thirteen months, Cooper and Kane worked in a Jacksonville Beach toolshed and in a bedroom studio, creating their sophomore album, Sleep Well.
After listening to the haunting tracks on their latest effort, there is a good chance that your sleep will be effected, as Cooper calls the album a “middle of the night record” that are “twelve pop songs about dreams and nightmares.” He added: “it features songs about boogie men and creatures living beneath your floorboards and the inevitable robot takeover we’re bound to experience in the near future.” Yup, your dreams will be screwed, but trust us, it is worth it. We have been addicted to Sleep Well for many weeks now, which you can officially get your hands on at your favorite indie record shop.
To help add a visual element to these sleep-inspired songs, Electric President worked with filmmaker Mark Hubbard. We will be posting plenty of these videos over the next few weeks, so stay tuned for those.
