WOXY Hosts Joe Strummer’s London Calling

Joe Strummer wasn’t just the leader of The Clash, he also hosted a series of radio programs in 1998 for the BBC World Service called Joe Strummer’s London Calling. The shows featured his eclectic radio collection and included many genres, from rock and reggae to folk. As you can imagine, they were probably pretty interesting, and something a lot of his fans might have not ever heard.

One of our favorite online stations, WOXY.com, will resurrect and present four two-hour London Calling programs starting this Sunday (August 3) at 10AM. The whole series will include all fourteen of Strummer’s original half-hour BBC shows. Jon Langford will host the series, so be sure and set an alarm to be at your computer to check them out this weekend.
