Saturday came with ideas of grandeur and the promise of a day of free music at the South Street Seaport that would include Tripwire favorites like the Vivian Girls, Devin The Dude, BIG A little a and High Places among others. But with the prospects of tropical storm Hanna dropping the hammer on the tri-state area, the East Village Radio Festival was postponed a day for precautionary measures. Yes – a tropical storm in Manhattan. And yes – the precautions were well-intended, as Hanna proved to be a real bitch. Yet as soon as the sideways rain came, it left and the skies opened up for what would be a postcard-perfect summer Sunday.
