Norwegian singer, songwriter, guitarist and vocalist Ane Brun’s new album Changing Of The Seasons will hit stores here in the States on October 21, via Cheap Lullaby Records. One of the songs featured on the album (which has been available in Europe for a bit now) is the track “Don’t Leave”, a pleading, hauntingly emotional number that is bound to be on the soundtrack to a break-up scene in a romance movie coming soon to a theater near you.
Despite being from Norway, the Bjork-meets-Ani DiFranco songwriter makes her home in Stockholm where she started her indie label DetErMine Records together with The Tiny´s lead singer Ellekari Larsson in 2002. There she released her Scanadvian debut Spending Time with Morgan, and by the time she put out her second album A Temporary Dive in 2005, Brune received a Norwegian Grammy for best Female Artist, was nominated as best Norwegian Act on the European MTV Music Awards and best Swedish Female Pop Artist at the Grammy’s.
Changing of the Seasons represents her fifth album although only her second US release and was produced by Valgeir Sigurdsson (Björk, Sigur Ros, Múm, Bonnie Prince Billy, Coco Rosie, Maps, etc).
