Paper Kingdom Documents Baltimore Music Posters

Now in it’s second pressing, the book Paper Kingdom is a thorough collection of Baltimore music posters created by Baltimore artists. Showcasing over 150 posters curated by Elena Johnson, the book – like the scene – prides itself on being DIY and documents that wide range of styles and genres permeating Crabtown’s scene for the last 15 years.

Paper Kingdom includes recent color screenprints from Wham City and Wildfire Wildfire to the hardcore pre-internet scene of the early 90s to the sweet and subtle folk aesthetic of the late 1990s. It also includes interviews with Dan Deacon (who is also responsible for the book cover), Victoria Legrand of Beach House, Shaun Flynn of Wzt Hearts, Nolen Strals of Double Dagger and Post Typography and several poster artists working and living in Baltimore. You can check out thumbnails of some of the posters featured here or order a copy for yourself here.
