Portishead Officially Announce New Album Information

This is the type of news that makes us stop in our tracks, hop on the phone to call fellow music goobers, starting off the conversation with “you’re not going to fucking believe this.” The new Portishead album, which seems to have been eight billion years in the making, is actually nearly here. The band posted some information on their official website, where they announced that the album will simply be titled Third.

They didn’t elaborate much, but we now know that it will contain eleven tracks, spanning forty-nine minutes and thirteen seconds. It will be released in the UK on April 14, although no US information is available yet. They have also confirmed a number of live dates overseas, while the only one on our shores thus far is Coachella. Lets pray that more North American dates will appear soon.
