In case the recent Rage Against The Machine acapella concert didn’t satiate you, guitarist Tom Morello will be kicking off a tour on November 1st in support of his latest solo endeavor, The Fabled City.
Under the new solo persona The Nightwatchman, the tour will display both sides of Morello’s guitar prowess with an acoustic set and full-band electric set performed each night. As stated by Morello, “I want to start off with the darker acoustic songs and then build to some of the wildest electric guitar playing I have ever unleashed on stage in my career. The idea is half Dylan/Half Hendrix. I have been practicing my ass off and can’t wait to rock.”
Along with Tom, there will be all kinds of special guests to help him “rock:” The Coup’s Boots Riley will open all dates, the Philly show will see a performance by Michael Franti and on November 3rd Tom will perform in Seattle alongside Pearl Jam’s Mike McCready’s band Shadow ‘86 and Stone Gossard with the Hank Khoir to promote voter participation.
And lastly, if you can’t wait until November, Morello will perform the new single “Whatever It Takes” on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson tonight (Friday, October 10) with special guest Flea on bass.
