Video – Pelican Premieres “Lost In The Headlights”

Instrumental rock/metal outfit Pelican will debut their latest video this weekend during MTV2’s Headbanger’s Ball. The video — for the song “Lost in the Headlights” from the City of Echoes album — is directed by Kenneth Thomas, who also worked on the band’s After the Ceiling Cracked DVD, released January 20 of this year. Guitarist Laurent Schroeder-Lebec told Headbanger’s Ball that the video picks up only a tad from where the “Dead Between the Walls” video left off.

“The narrative flow from our ‘Dead Between The Walls’ video continues loosely on this new one, (but) Ken’s vision here was more focused on adapting texture and environment to the song’s flow,” Schroeder-Lebec said. “Ken and (drummer) Larry (Herweg) worked hard to find fitting locations, and eventually we settled on a rooftop in desolate downtown Los Angeles, as well as Switzer Falls in Angeles National Forest. We’re immensely pleased with the results.”

The video’s television debut happens on Headbanger’s Ball some time between 2 and 3 a.m. EST (11 p.m. and midnight PST) on Saturday night. According to the band’s MySpace, they expect it will be one of the first to air. But of course, you don’t have to wait — check out “Lost in the Headlights” below.
