Pete Wentz Secures Future Of Angst-Ridden Pop Punk With Bad Baby Name

[Photo excerpt from the LA Times Blog]
Because being the child of a rock star apparently doesn’t make you conspicuous enough, Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz and pop-star wife Ashlee Simpson decided to give their little bundle of joy plenty to talk about in therapy by naming him Bronx Mowgli Wentz. The poor little guy came into the world last night, completely unaware that he was being named for a borough of New York and a fictional Disney character who played with animated monkeys.

A representative for the couple told US Magazine last night that “Ashlee, Pete and baby Bronx are all healthy and happy.” We can only guess that this is because Bronx is not yet mentally developed enough to understand what has just happened to him — however, we certainly admire Wentz for giving his son something to be emo and angst-ridden about before he even speaks his first words.

According to US Magazine, Wentz actually said (and seems to believe) that he was giving his kid a name that would work as either “a rock star or a senator.” Really Pete? Really? A senator? That kid is going to be so messed up he’s going to — well, wait. Maybe politics is in the cards.

We’re just sad it wasn’t a girl, because we would’ve much rather spent the next 25 years or so hearing about the mishaps and misdemeanors of Staten Island Cinderella Wentz.
