Orbital To Reunite For Big Chill Fest 2009

It’s been five long years since Orbital took the stage together to play a live gig, and hopefully come August of 2009 those years will have been worth the wait. The Big Chill festival announced this week that Orbital will headline the fest next year.

Set for Aug. 7-9, 2009 in Herefordshire, UK, the festival will also feature performances from Basement Jaxx and Friendly Fires and other acts to be named as the date nears. Orbital’s Phil Hartnoll said the gig won’t be “an exercise in nostalgia.”

“The time just seems right,” he said. “Everything just seemed to fall into place. I’ve played the Big Chill before, I DJed there and had a really good time – it’s an amazing festival. The timing is also good: 20 years of being together.” The band will deliver on their reputation as a live act with big visuals and anthems, but definitely expect something new and a little different.

Keep checking back with The Big Chill for more information on other acts scheduled for the event.
