Bloc Party Premieres Video For “One Month Off”

With a few more tour dates to wrap up here in the States before heading home, Bloc Party has premiered the video for the latest single from their not-quite-critically-acclaimed October release, Intimacy.

The video for “One Month Off” (which officially comes out as a single in the UK on January 26) does little to give the self-indulgent and often disconnected tone of Intimacy — and especially lead singer Kele Okereke — any pick me up. As if watching a happy band turn into a bunch of curmudgeons hasn’t been difficult enough, now they’re using tanks and fighter jets to lay waste to our favorite fairy tale characters? Don’t worry, it’s all just a rouse — in the closing seconds of the video we learn that none of the footage is actually real. Whew.
