And The Best Rock Club In America Is…

It looks like Austin is two for two! Back in January we found out that Esquire crowned The Mohawk as the best bar in the US. Our friends over at Austinist just found out that Rolling Stone has declared that Stubb’s is the best rock club in America.

Paige Maguire at Austinist posted: “RS cited the venue’s capacity (a good size, the largest spot downtown that isn’t a theater or indoor music hall) at 2,200, their admirable genre inclusion when it comes to booking (Wu-Tang, Feist, Billy Idol and Willie Nelson have all performed there), the PA system and the added bonus of delicious food as factors in the decision making process.”

After living in various cities around the country, visiting many music venues in the process, I’ll have to agree that Stubb’s is tops. Of course, when the weather gets a bit shitty, I tend to miss NYC’s Bowery Ballroom.
