Voodoo Experience Turns Ten With R.E.M.

Of all the various music festivals that take place in North America, one of the few that we’ve yet to check out first hand is the Voodoo Experience. Taking place in the music rich land of New Orleans, the festival will be celebrating its tenth anniversary in the city’s history City Park, located just minutes from the French Quarter.

Taking place from October 24 to 26, the organizers have just announced a preliminary list of performers. This year they’re taking it classic alternative, bringing on R.E.M., Nine Inch Nails and Stone Temple Pilots. For an added bit of true New Orleans culture, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band and Irving Mayfield’s New Orleans Jazz Orchestra will be performing as well.

We’ll keep you posted as additional acts are announced. Also, a special limited number of presale 3-day passes will be sold for $100 a pop this Friday through thetenthritual.com.
