The Cure Readies Four New Singles

The goth granddaddies The Cure have decided to release an impressive four singles between now and September, leading up to their thirteenth studio album. It is mighty amazing to think that ol’ Robert Smith has cranked out thirteen studio albums, even if a few of the more recent records were less than stellar. The singles will hit shops on the thirteenth of each month, leading up to this thirteenth album… get it?

The May 18 single will be “The Only One,” featuring the b-side “NY Trip.” The June 18 single will be “Freakshow,” with the b-side “All Kinds Of Stuff.” We’re still waiting on the final information for the July and August 13 singles. The tracks were produced by Robert Smith along with Keith Uddin.

In case you were curious as to which lineup currently comprises The Cure, old school members Robert Smith and bassist Simon Gallup are joined by drummer Jason Cooper as well as guitarist Porl Thompson. Seeing Porl back in the band is definitely a great thing, as his guitar work on Disintegration and Wish was brilliant.
