It has been a roller coaster of a ride for The Dandy Warhols. They always had a love/hate relationship with their (now former) record label, which is why it is no surprise that their brand new album, Earth To The Dandy Warhols, will be released on their own Beat The World Records. Today they relaunched their website, including a free MP3 download of the opening track on the new disc, “The World The People Together (Come On).” Now, it is impossible to judge a new album by only one track, but this one did not do much for us over here at Tripwire HQ.
On May 19, the new album will be available for purchase as part of their new subscription service. Although details are a bit sketchy as of now, apparently fans will be treated to new exclusive content for one year, which will include b-sides and live tracks. It will be interesting to see if the Dandys have sustained a large enough fan base to support a subscription service, as it is an intriguing business model.
