Bo Diddley Passes Away

A founding father of rock n’ roll, Bo Diddley has passed away today at the age of 79. After months of ill health, heart failure finally took the musician’s life at his home in Archer, Florida. Last August he suffered a heart attack, in addition to a stroke three months before which affected his ability to speak.

Known for his homemade guitar and rumba-like beat, the singer didn’t always top the charts back in the ’50s and early ’60s, but what he did manage to do is pave the way for artists ranging from Buddy Holly and the Rolling Stones to The Who and Jimi Hendrix.

Rest in peace Bo Diddley, you will be missed.
