Nouvelle Vague Turns To Songs From Movies

Everybody’s favorite project involving French ladies covering alternative rock classics, Nouvelle Vague, has decided to invade Hollywood for their latest incarnation. Nouvelle producer Marc Collin has officially created the new collective Hollywood Mon Amour, taking classic songs from feature films and giving them the chilled out treatment that we came to love from him.

He brought along vocalists Skye, Yael Naim, Cibelle, Juliette Lewis, Nadeah, Dea Li, Katrine Ottosen, Nadeah, Leelou, Nancy Danino and Bianca Calandra to take the lead on these movie tracks from the ’80s, such as “Arthur’s Theme” (yes, from Dudley Moore’s film Arthur), “Eye Of The Tiger” (Rocky III), “What A Feeling” (Flashdance), “You Take My Breath Away” (Top Gun) and “A View To A Kill.” So we’ve got the former vocalist for Morcheeba, an actress turned rocker, a bunch of songs from ’80s movies, all set to the lounge stylings of Marc Collin. Sounds like a possible winner to us!

We don’t know of any official release information as of yet, but you can sample a few tracks on their MySpace page as well as on the YouTube clip below. C’mon, kick off your Friday with a little “Eye Of The Tiger”… you know you want to.
