R.I.P. George Carlin

Now this is not how we wanted to start off the week. The Tripwire crew was sad to learn that legendary comedian George Carlin passed away yesterday at the age of 71 due to heart failure. The man single handedly changed the rules and regulations on US television and radio language through his brilliantly crude routine on the “Seven Words,” back in 1978 when said words were aired on a NY radio station.

According to the AP, his career included 130 appearances on The Tonight Show, 23 comedy albums, 14 HBO specials, three books and several appearances in movies. You can read more on the amazing career of Carlin as well as quotes from many comedians influenced by his work over on Yahoo’s AP news story.

It has been a long time since we’ve enjoyed his legendary “Seven Words” routine, so enjoy the VERY NSFW comedy bit below. R.I.P. Mr. Carlin… you will be missed.
