Gregory And The Hawk Signs To FatCat

One of the few indie labels out there that consistently release outstanding albums is the one and only FatCat Records. Over the past years, their roster has included Animal Collective and Sigur Ros, and now features Tripwire favorites Frightened Rabbit. We can now add yet another great up-and-coming artist to that list: Brooklyn’s Gregory And The Hawk.

Although many might not recognize Gregory And The Hawk, plenty of people have already discovered their music. GATH’s self-released music has sold over 15,000 copies, which ain’t bad! Meredith Godreau is the brains behind this musical outfit, which is essential the vehicle for her solo work. She teamed up with producer Adam Pierce of Mice Parade for the debut FatCat album, Moenie and Kitchi, currently set for release on October 7.

Over on her MySpace page you can preview the new song “Grey Weather.” We definitely suggest checking it out, and then go start picking up those self-release albums to help get you warmed up for Moenie and Kitchi.
