Smashing Pumpkins Begin To Leak Tour Details

Last month we mentioned that the Smashing Pumpkins are indeed planning on releasing a pre-Gish / Gish era boxset at some point later this year. Along with that, the band was in the middle of plotting a Gish tour, and it seems that details are now beginning to trickle in on their official site.

The Pumpkins, although we’re not exactly sure who is IN the Pumpkins right now, will tour in August, sticking to mainly smaller venues. In November they will then perform a number of 20th anniversary shows in larger locations. The Gish tour itself has now been moved to early 2009. So we’ve got small venue shows, 20th anniversary celebrations and a Gish tour. Got it?

Corgan did comment on the upcoming dates, stating: “The August tour is going to be a blast… Expect a very loud and raucous show from us…and we are very, very happy to know we will finally be playing our own shows come November in New York, L.A., and Chicago… The 20th Anniversary shows will be magical… We are already working on lots of surprises”

The only show currently confirmed is in Hammond, IN on August 9th at The Venue. More should be announced any day now, as August is just around the corner.
