New York’s Takka Takka have been making serious waves in the independent rock underground/overground continuum since the release of the band’s critically acclaimed new album, Migration, on the Ernest Jenning Record Co. imprint a couple weeks back. Proving their cross platform appeal, Takka Takka went into a show at New York’s Highline Ballroom with Mates of State as the unassuming opener and proceeded to blow everyone away. Fresh off of that stellar performance, the band has just announced a quick jaunt around the North East with their friends Oxford Collapse in late September. There’s also rumors of a secret NYC show earlier in the month, shhh….

And if that ain’t enough, they’ve just unveiled their debut video for the song “Silence”. Directed by Amy Finkel, the video shows a group of toy soldiers fighting a war on a human body (not figuratively, but literally).
