Undoubtedly one of my favorite bands of 2008 (or any year for that matter), the Baltimore quartet always put on show after show of sweat-inducing, frenetic joy of near orgasmic proportions. So when Ponytail released their debut full length Ice Cream Spiritual this past June on We Are Free – produced by J. Robbins no less – all ears were waiting to see if they would be able to capture that same intensity on record.
Well, sufficed to say, they succeeded, as Spiritual should – if there is any justice in this world – land atop many music critics “best-of” lists. Below is just a lick, but the track “7 Souls” is always a show-stopper in person, so we’re excited to be able to make it available for you to download. Extra points if you can figure out what Molly is singing about.
