Another Potential Way To Salvage The Music Biz?

We’ve seen plenty of various ideas and business models to help salvage what is left of the music biz. While sales continue to swirl down the financial toilet, what does the future have in store for our beloved bands and the various places we can purchase their music?

One new method of financing the release of albums has been created by a music lawyer and the founder of Friends United, in the form of Bandstock. The Daily Swarm picked up on this story, which is running at The Guardian, which states that fans will have the ability to purchase stocks in an artist at £10 increments. Once a band reaches a certain monetary amount in Bandstocks, the money will then be applied to the recording of their album.

Investors will not only get a copy of the album and credit in the liner notes, as they will also get a percentage of the profits. For more on this unique idea, check out the whole story at The Guardian.
