Place Your Bets

I’m not a betting man. I like to pretend that I am. Always pushing my friends to ‘bet’ against me. You know, the typical, every day scenarios like, “I bet that guy is going to walk right into that pile of dog poop” or “I bet I can drink this glass of soy milk faster than you”. Yeah, my friends don’t like to hang out with me when I’m in that fierce betting mood. Maybe it’s because I haven’t made that leap into the risky business of REAL betting. On the other hand, they’re pretty much degenerates for this sport of financial pluses and minuses. And I should mention that I’ve never been to Vegas. Been told that you can bet on anything imaginable there. You name it and the odds exist.

If you’re an avid follower of the British music scene, then you’ll know that the Mercury Prize awards show is quickly approaching. Well, today I learned that you can hedge your bets for this year’s prize winner. Check this out: WilliamHill

Since I’m a novice for this kinda shit – based on the bookmaker’s odds, Portico Quartet have a slim chance of winning. Although, if you feel like the luckiest man on earth, then go for it. The band would appreciate it.

Mixing music and betting… this can be my downfall. I bet Radiohead will win!
