Mike Skinner Gets Roughed Up While Crowdsurfing In Cambridge

the_streets031

Crowd surfing has always come with its risks. With all those hands grabbing blindly at your bits, something bad is bound to happen eventually. This week, The Streets’ Mike Skinner learned that lesson the hard way.

It was during a gig at Cambridge Corn Exhange Tuesday that Skinner dove into the crowd about halfway through the set and started making his way around the venue. But then, good clean fun turned into someone-got-an-eye-poked-out fun. Or rather, a hernia scar.

Skinner described the incident in a blog on his MySpace: Tonight someone held onto my belt so hard that my hernia scar from many years ago opened up to a bright red colour. Looks like a wee organ might pop out of its purpley red bloody gash.

After the show, an ambulance attendant insisted that Skinner be seen by paramedics. Doctor’s advice? Cut down on the crowdsurfing, laddy. And don’t let fans grab on you quite so much. That’s probably just good life advice.
